The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is pleased to announce the implementation of an electronic visitor management system at all of our schools. This electronic visitor management system will enhance school security by reading each visitor's driver's license, or other approved form of identification, and automatically comparing it to California's Megan's Law and similar databases nationwide.
The system also compares visitors' identification information to internal flags placed by a school site including, but not limited to, restraining or custody orders. The system then generates and prints a temporary ID badge that includes a photo, name of visitor, date and time, and destination on campus. This electronic visitor management system is designed to permanently replace paper sign-in procedures, and will serve as a great support in helping protect our campuses and, most importantly, our students and staff.
The electronic visitor management system will provide a consistent, standardized method to track visitors, while keeping away individuals who may present a danger to students and staff members. Please note, it is not connected to any other system such as the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the United States Department of Justice, etc. Additional personal data will not be gathered or shared with any outside company or organization.
